Today, I want to discuss "rap" songs. This is not a genre I usually give listen to because I believe after you heard one, you've heard them all. Maybe not so much the lyrics(can't understand a lot of them) but,the beat and the scratch and the bass line or back beat. I believe that rap came to be for those who wanted to entertain but did not have the vocal stretch as many of the mainstream artists did. I wont say I never have liked a "rap" song but, I'm told that the "rap songs" I like are because they are reminiscent of my hey day in the seventies. These were my choices for a good "rap" song
I've always liked rock and roll, rock, hard rock, a little metal rock, and the mingling of the genres which I call rock and rap. I want to hear something besides a pre-recorded beat that keeps repeating and a standard bass line. Throw in a few guitar riffs.
Then one day listening to some music from my day,I came across this song and I had an Epiphany, If "rap" is rhyming in a spoken voice to a music background then, maybe this song from 1974 should be considered as the first ever "rap" song. It like the current "rap" is done very fast(i don't think most of today's rappers could do it) has a great beat and if it had a little more rock, would make a great re-make if the right artist decided to try it. Give it a listen and see if you can rap it like these guys did all the way back then.

Look out sheriff ,theres a new gun in town and he goes by the name of Tyler . This guy is based in Nashville, Tenn. and has a new single coming out on I tunes. The release date is is on my page with a little teaser of the single from his EP. It seems Tyler has a hook in his song and in recent years I see more and more that is lacking. What I mean is I posted a while back how I went to a club about a year ago and left about 3 hrs. later and when asked about it, my reaction was "why did they play the same song all night.?" Of course they didn't but, every song had the same bass line and backbeat. It is almost like someone pre-recorded the music and every "artist" used it to back their "own work"
You wont find that with Tyler, he has a good sound and a good look. You can hear his teaser and make your own decision as to weather or not you think he has hooked you.If Tyler keeps this up, Im sure you'll be hearing more from him /pages/In-my-own-opinion and be sure to like my page so you can get updates on Tyler and more.

These are my own opinions and picks to make the show.
