It has come to light that the DAR(daughters of the American revolution) has removed god, Jesus, and references to such from any of their literature anywhere in the organization. It is reported that this is coming down from the president of the DAR and many members, afraid of losing membership are revolting anonymously.
I say to these women, if the fight is worth it, then it is worth the risk. All fights have a risk and this one is no different. Most organizations have a board of directors and most usually a president can not make this kind of change to it without the consent of the board. Also, your president is voted in and so are your board members and they can be removed. Look through your by-laws, there has to be an answer there.
People are going way too far with these "we don't want to offend anyone" BS. What you end up doing is offending your christian membership.I would guess that everyone who contributed to the effort of freedom was in fact a christian. Also the club was founded on the christian faith, in a country that won it's freedom from persecution over their religion. If the coming members are offended by this then they are in fact saying that they are not proud of who their ancestors were. Removing the thought that these men and women were Christians, removes them completely from the revolution because they would have been completely different people. The pilgrims that first landed at Plymouth rock were fleeing persecution because of their faith. The one to be persecuted here should be the clubs president for making such a general decision for her membership.
I am so sick and tired of laws and rules governing people to be politically correct. political correctness is for politicians only, hence the term "politically correct". Any of you idiots out there that are offended by something, move on! When you and your type have religious terms removed or want removed because you don't believe that way, it offends others that a country that was founded on the morals of Christianity can no longer display that fact. What is the King James bible but a lot of stories by people who claim this and that and that it was set down to them by god. Then someone complains because it was not their god or they have no belief in god or in their belief there is no god, I then have to ask , why are you here in a country that believed so much in god they left their homeland and risked life and limb to come where they could pray to whom they wanted without fear of persecution.
Why in this world should one person in an organization be allowed to make a decision without consulting the moral majority?Fight ladies fight. Make those who went before you proud of you. They risked everything they had to build this country and you are risking membership in a club that I believe most of you would not want to be a member of if things go this way.
